The Lighthouse serves the Meriden Community through the distribution
of "Totebags of Peace", providing soap, face cloths, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, free meals and clothing to those in need, and many other personal necessities. Distribution/Outreach on the Meriden Green happens on the 3rd Saturday of every month. This is under the direction of Jose Murillo Sr and his wife Dawn, our ministers of outreach and evangelism.
At Lighthouse we believe that serving is integral to a healthy spiritual life.
We always have opportunities for the following: Greeters and Ushers, Sunday School Teachers (training provided), Nursery Attendants, and Worship Team Members (Singers and Musicians). If you are interested in serving contact Lighthouse below.
Our drama ministry writes and produces various short skits based on the lessons of specific Bible truths. We have also produced longer dramatic presentations for Christmas and Easter. While always looking for those eager to “act up” we also invite those interested in video-taping our presentations as well as helping with sound, lighting, and advertising.
The men of The Lighthouse gather together on the First Monday of each month for Bible Study and fellowship.. We attend various conferences, especially the annual Iron Sharpens Iron Conference in March. We also prepare meals for the devoted Women of LWC, who shed their own sparking light upon us. Additionally, the men are devoted to planning and preparing church-wide picnics and in caring for the physical needs of our congregation. For more information feel free to call us @ (860) 628-1733
We have held Missions Banquets for our Chi Alpha and Home Missions ministers, as well as for any overseas missionaries who might be itinerating in the States.
On occasion you might notice a tag sale, bake sale, or book sale in our parking lot, often accompanied with live music.
During Christmas, Resurrection Week, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day we generally offer special services and/or meals as a celebration of Christ in us, as well as His call to the Body as a Family of Friends of God.
The Lighthouse Worship Team includes guitars and drums (we could use a piano player!) with energized singers. More than just a “warm-up” to the message, our singing ministry leads the congregation into the presence of the Holy Spirit and offers the opportunity for the ministry of tongues and prophecy as an encouragement to the Body of Christ and as a witness to unbelievers.
