“Since we are receiving a Kingdom that cannot be destroyed, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe. For God is a consuming fire.” Hebrews 12:218-29 NLT
Again we see our Great God as an all-consuming fire, even though He also speaks through bushes that are not consumed, and He allows men who walk in the midst of fire, fully-clothed in highly flammable garments, to come out without even a singed eyebrow. The mere fact that He can – and does - perform these types of miracles is evidence that He is so totally all-consuming, and that the breath of fire is often the vessel of His presence.
Yes, my God is an all-consuming fire who has graciously and mercifully chosen not to consume us by fire, but to love us with His powerful presence and everlasting love! How awesome is that?!
Before we take another step on our Pentecostal path of the fiery passion of God, let us take a day to reflect, refresh and renew ourselves, while thanking Him for His goodness and for His “bigness”. Let us also pray for others who need to feel the heat of God’s breath and experience the warmth of His love.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We thank You for being such an all-consuming, awesome God, and we bow down to worship You. May our hearts be purified and refined by the fire of Your holiness today as we pause to refresh ourselves, allowing You to spiritually wash our feet, soothe our hurts, and heal our wounds.
In You only, Oh Lord, do “we live and move and have our being” (see Acts 17:28).
In You alone, Oh God, can we see the salvation, healing, and deliverance of our loved ones; only You can heal our land, if we – your people - will honor our country and pray for our leaders, locally and nationally, to have the wisdom, knowledge, understanding and courage to do what is right in Your eyes.
Help us Lord to be bolder witnesses of Your works, so that others might be blessed by Your presence in their lives; may our seed bear fruit, and may our watering bring fresh blossoms and marvelous growth to the Kingdom of God on Earth.
Father, today, each one of us personally prays for the salvation of _______________________; healing for ___________________; a financial turnaround for __________________; emotional comfort for _________________; and the reconciliation and restoration and of our relationship with _______________.
You alone know all things, see all things, hear all things. Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer and for Your holy, just, and righteous answer.
Help us Father, to “Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep…If possible, so far as it depends on (us), (help us to) be at peace with all men.” Romans 12:15, 18 NASB (parenthetical notes added to personalize the verses).
In Jesus’ Name we pray and believe, Amen!
